New Student Package - 2 weeks unlimited - $30
If you are a new student to yoga, trying a class just once will not give you a good idea of whether you like yoga or whether it will help you or not. The first class is always a bit difficult and can feel akward and you are likely to feel pretty sore in the following days. By commiting yourself to going to at least 3 classes your body and mind will have the opportunity to learn and adjust to this new practice and integrate these teachings on a cellular level. We recommend trying yoga at least 3x per week for 2 weeks for an optimal experience. After this you will know if yoga is something for you or not. Therefore we offer this very economical package for new students only to try any classes at the studio offered by Shiva or Meeghan.

About Shiva

My goal in teaching yoga is to be a force for bringing people to greater health, awareness, and peace. I believe that Awareness is the one true thing that heals us, and through paying attention in yoga to our breath, our bodies, and our minds, we can increase that awareness and the full healing capacity that lies within each of us can be activated and unleashed.

I have taught at various yoga studios and locations including:

  • Bryce Canyon National Park
  • Creative Yoga Kauai
  • Pacific Center for Awareness and Bodywork on Kauai
  • Lila Wellness in New York
  • High Mesa Healing Center in Alto, NM
  • Bliss Yoga in Ruidoso, NM
I am a Registered Yoga Teacher ® (RYT) with Yoga Alliance.

My foundational teacher training (221 hours) took place with Ana Forrest in NYC in 2005. In 2010 I completed 90 hours of teacher training with Shiva Rea in the Samudra Global School of Living Yoga. I have been practicing yoga since 1999, and teaching since 2002.

I have received 90 hours of training in Prana Flow Yoga. Although I am not certified in this method yet, I am pursuing an advanced certification in Prana Flow Yoga and I am incorporating many elements from this style into my classes. I honor Shiva Rea, who is the founder of this method and who is an incredible being and one of my teachers in life.

Embrace the flow and allow the prana to guide you.

Prana : "life-force of creation"
Flow : the state of unified consciousness

Prana Flow is an energetic, creative, full-spectrum approach to embodying the flow of yoga cultivated by Shiva Rea and the Global Vinyasa Collective of Teachers. Students of all levels are empowered to experience prana - the universal source of breath, life-energy and conscious intelligence - as the navigating source of yoga practice and vital living. Practitioners learn classical and innovative approaches to vinyasa yoga and the state of flow drawn from Krishnamacharya's teachings, Tantra, Ayurveda, Bhakti, Somatics and Shiva's teaching experience from the last fifteen years. This info taken from the Prana Flow website.

About Meeghan

Meeghan received her yoga teacher training in the style of Bikram Yoga in 2006. After suffering from a devastating car crash she used Bikram yoga to heal her body in ways she never dreamed possible. Meeghan hopes to share this healing with her students. She now teaches a modified version of Bikram called "Hot Yoga." The room is heated to 85-95 degrees and the yoga class follows a precise series of 26 postures designed to strengthen, lengthen, and tone muscles, strengthen the spine, relieve pain, increase balance, coordination, focus and discipline, and balance hormonal function.

The heated room adds the following benefits:

-warms the muscles for greater flexibility
-weight loss by balancing metabolism
-detoxifies the body by flushing toxins out
-improves the efficiency of the immune system
-helps achieve a deeper stretch
-reduces sports injury
-reduces aches and pains

For any questions about Meeghan's classes please call her at 575-808-1589.
